Job Description

  • Under direction of the assigned supervisor, will, organize, schedule and provide support housekeeping maintenance of all facilities for the Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC and the dental clinics and dispensaries location at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island

  • Will perform a full range of housekeeping duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of all assigned buildings and facilities

  • Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered

  • Clean and sanitize rest room facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains: refrigerated water coolers, custodial mop sinks, restroom sinks, urinals and toilets: replenish supplies in restrooms

  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip and polish floors and equipment

  • Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment

  • Wash windows, mirrors and walls

  • Wash tables and chairs as required

  • Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles

  • Patient Room Cleaning, Exam Room, Lab Cleaning, Fitness Room cleaning

  • Perform specialized projects such as restoration programs on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a NALC level clearance.

  • Must have a Health Appraisal, along with Tuberculosis skin test

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Must have excellent organizational skills

  • Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervisor

  • High school graduate or “equivalent”

  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires U.S. Citizenship status.

  • Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record (must provide current driving record).
