Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co., Inc. SERVICE MANAGER in Pooler, Georgia
Supervises, coordinates and participates in all branch shop activities, including but not limited to shop service of customer units and rental fleet units. Assures that all equipment is maintained, serviced and repaired according to TPM standards by performing the following duties
Directs and assists workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and repairing diesel engines, pumps and related equipment in the shop.
Supervises shop mechanics in the Branch Service Department.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisor responsibilities include; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.
Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Completes work orders (MWO) to assure necessary parts are received accurately, timely and in accordance with inventory controls.
Interprets job orders and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
Enforces safety and security regulations and procedures, including assisting with and conducting safety training.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Operates Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts) in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Install/setup pumps and related pumping equipment and pumping systems.
Required to do Field Service as needed, including the training of customers on pump operation and service requirements.
Required to work after-hours and weekends on a rotating on-call basis as needed.
Assist with deliveries, including loading of heavy equipment onto transport vehicles.
Drive trucks with trailers and deliver and pick-up pumps and equipment.
Assist other departments as necessary
High School diploma or GED required; Trade school graduate or comparable experience
7+ years of diesel engine, construction equipment and/or portable pump equipment repair experience.
5+ years of diesel and/or portable pump equipment repair experience.
Proficient in all duties and meet all requirements of a Branch Service Mechanic I and II
Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices.
Must have a working knowledge of D.C. electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
Pump end and engine complete teardown, rebuild, test, and operating principles.
Unsupervised field and shop work.
